Student Life
The mission of Rogers International School is to create a diverse school community of lifelong learners through an engaging and challenging program that fosters a culture of caring, collaboration, action learning, and responsibility for the environment.
Rogers International School is a "six to-six" interdistrict magnet school with before and after school programs beginning at 6:00am and ending at 6:00pm. Since 2002, Rogers has implemented the International Baccalaureate program. With its inception, RIS staff has participated in extensive professional development related to the IB philosophy, curriculum, and practices. Within the philosophy of the IB, RIS focuses on a learner’s “stage, not age” which is reinforced through levels of support and enrichment in all subject areas including: Virtual High School for 8th graders, Algebra I & Geometry, an extensive performing arts program, the IB Design Program including a Makerspace & Video Production Studio, Language Acquisition of Spanish and/or Mandarin beginning in Kindergarten, and innovative technology with 1:1 devices in grades K-8.
RIS is united by a common language centering on the IB Learner Profile and a student-centered inquiry approach. Our entire school community embraces and embodies the IB Learner Profile-inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. We strive for our students to be successful global citizens who exhibit the RIS motto, “A high tide raises all boats.”
