Rogers International School, originally the International School at Rogers Magnet, is an authorized International Baccalaureate World School with students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). In 2007, the International School at Rogers Magnet received the Lone Pine First Annual Fairfield Academic Gain Award.

Rogers International School is a "six- to-six" interdistrict magnet school with before and after school programs beginning at 6:00am and ending at 6:00pm. The school provides the learning experiences for approximately 850 students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

Our Principal

Cathleen Cummings, Principal of the Rogers International School, came to Rogers in July of 2000. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, she began her career as a teacher in Newport, RI and later Stamford. She holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University with a concentration in Gifted and Talented as well as Sixth Year degree in Administration and Supervision from Fairfield University. In February 2004, Rogers became authorized as a World School by the IBO. As part of the authorization process, Ms. Cummings received extensive training in the Primary Years Program from the IBA. This included workshops in inquiry, assessment, literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies. Today she continues her pursuit of having all Rogers' students adhere to the IB principles.

Our Assistant Principals

Alexander Hanna has been the Assistant Principal at Rogers since July 2022. He began his career as a mathematics teacher at Cloonan Middle School from 2008-2013 and was Cloonan’s math support specialist from 2013 to 2015. He served as Cloonan’s Administrative Intern from 2015 to 2019 and was the school’s Assistant Principal from 2019 to 2022. 

He earned a Bachelors in Business and Technology from the University of Connecticut and both a Masters in elementary Education and a sixth year certificate in (TITEL) from Southern Connecticut State University.  He is certified in K-6 Elementary Education (CT 013) and Intermediate Administration or Supervision (CT 092). 

Tim Foley has more than 20 years of experience as a math teacher, math coach and International Baccalaureate Programme Coordinator with Rogers International School. He earned Bachelor of Science in Economics from the State Univeristy of New York at Buffalo, a Masters of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport, a Master of Arts in Math Education Grades 5-9 from Western Governors’ University, and a Sixth Year Certificate in Intermediate Administration from Sacred Heart University. He has professional certifications in Technology/Unified Arts Education PreK-12 (CT 047), Elementary Education PreK-6 (CT 002), Middle School Mathematics Grades 4-8 (CT 229), and K-12 Intermediate Administration or Supervision (CT 092).
